  • Mill Swamp Indian Horses,LLC is located a few miles from our house. Horses may be seen by appointment or during scheduled programs.

  • To obtain maps or directions from the Internet, use the intersection of Moonlight Rd and Mill Swamp Rd in Smithfield, VA 23430 (see Driving Directions link below for MapQuest).

  • Directions from Virginia Beach / Norfolk:
    Take I-64 West through the HAMPTON ROADS BRIDGE TUNNEL.
    Take the Mercury Blvd Exit towards the James River Bridge.
    Proceed down MERCURY BLVD and over the JAMES RIVER BRIDGE into Isle of Wight County.
    You’ll be on CARROLLTON BLVD (US Rt 17 South).
    At the 4th stoplight, turn RIGHT onto BREWERS NECK BLVD (US Rt 258 & VA Rt 32 South) and travel a little under 3 miles.
    At the 2nd stoplight, turn RIGHT onto BENNS CHURCH BLVD (US Rt 258 South & VA Rt 10 West) and follow the MAIN DIRECTIONS below—

  • Directions from Hampton / Newport News:
    Proceed down MERCURY BLVD and over the JAMES RIVER BRIDGE into Isle of Wight County.
    You’ll be on CARROLLTON BLVD (US Rt 17 South).
    At the 4th stoplight, turn RIGHT onto BREWERS NECK BLVD (US Rt 258 & VA Rt 32 South) and travel a little under 3 miles.
    At the 2nd stoplight, turn RIGHT onto BENNS CHURCH BLVD (US Rt 258 South & VA Rt 10 West) and follow the MAIN DIRECTIONS below—

  • Directions from Suffolk:
    Take US Rt 10 West toward Smithfield which becomes BENNS CHURCH BLVD.
    From the Benns Church intersection, follow the MAIN DIRECTIONS below--

  • Directions from Windsor:
    Take US Rt 258 North to Smithfield.
    Turn LEFT onto US Rt 10 West toward Surry and travel until the first left turn-a little over 4 miles.
    Turn LEFT onto WRENNS MILL ROAD (VA Rt 677) and travel one mile.
    Turn RIGHT onto BETHANY CHURCH ROAD (VA Rt 678) and travel two miles.
    Turn RIGHT onto MILL SWAMP ROAD (VA Rt 626) and travel just over one mile.
    Turn RIGHT onto MOONLIGHT ROAD.
    Turn RIGHT almost immediately into the pasture lane.
    If you have gotten as far as a little house on the right, then you’ve gone too far.

  • Directions from Surry:
    Take VA Rt 10 East toward Smithfield.
    Stay on VA Rte. 10 East through Bacon's Castle and beyond (about 13.5 miles).
    Turn RIGHT onto WRENNS MILL ROAD (VA Rt 677) and travel one mile.
    (If you get to where you can turn left onto the Rte. 10 Business Route, you've just overshot your turn).
    Turn RIGHT onto BETHANY CHURCH ROAD (VA Rte 678) and travel two miles.
    Turn RIGHT onto MILL SWAMP ROAD (VA Rte 626) and travel just over one mile.
    Turn RIGHT onto MOONLIGHT ROAD.
    Turn RIGHT almost immediately into the pasture lane.
    If you have gotten as far as a little house on the right, then you’ve gone too far.

MAIN DIRECTIONS

From the Benns Church intersection, travel a little under 8½ miles, through 5 stoplights, staying on VA Rt 10 West By-Pass toward Surry.

Turn LEFT onto WRENNS MILL ROAD (VA Rt 677) and travel one mile.

Turn RIGHT onto BETHANY CHURCH ROAD (VA Rt 678) and travel two miles.

Turn RIGHT onto MILL SWAMP ROAD (VA Rt 626) and travel just over one mile.

Turn RIGHT onto MOONLIGHT ROAD.

Turn RIGHT almost immediately into the pasture lane.

If you have gotten as far as a little house on the right, then you’ve gone too far.
